Drama Competition grand success

Children Festival’s Inter School Drama Competition a big success

Dec.12, Bandra, Mumbai: first phase of Inter School Drama competition for children Festival 2010 successfully ended with high zeal among students. Total 13 schools of western belt of Mumbai participated in the drama competition elimination round.

The chief guest of the program was Editor of Inquilab Daily Mumbai Mr. Shahid Lateef.

The talent and art depicted by these teenagers were remarkable, marvelous, jaw dropping and astounding. Hundreds of audience, parents and school children were impressed by the message given by these dramas.

The topics covered by these dramas were:

· Changing moral values

· Drug Addictions

· Save Environment

The Judges were experts in their field. Mr. Aaftab Hasnain ( National and State award winner for drama, writer of more than 100 story books), Mr. Rafeeq Gulab ( Director, actor, writer of National Award winning drama, Sub Editor Urdu Times) and Mrs. Nigar Sultana ( Award winner of different Organisation, Director and actor).

Mr. Shahid Lateef called up students on stage and told them to express their views. Audience presented cheers on hearing the views expressed by these teenagers.

Mr. Haseeb Bhatkar (Chief Organiser Children Festival) expressed his views on the occasion. “This is not just a program but heart beat now” he said. When we started this activity we were not knowing this will take this great turn. I am thankful to ALLAH (SWT) for continuous successful programs for this event, He added.

Mr. Shahid Lateef admired the way dramas were presented. He expressed his grave concerns over the rising trend of addiction among youngsters, Global scenario and falling moral values. He was grateful to Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) and Jamaat E Islami Hind (JIH) for such a great event. “This is the need of the hour”, “SIO is moving in the right direction” “These type of events should be continued” were the views expressed by him.

The winners of this first phase are:

1. Anjuman-e-Islam Bandra girls

2. National Urdu School (Jogehwari)

These two schools will compete with the two other winners of central belt, the competition of which was running parallel in Anjuman-e-slam Kurla. The winners from Central belt are :

1. Maharashtra Urdu School, Kurla

2. Shaan-e-Islam School,Sakinaka.

These four teams will finally compete in the Children Festival second day (19th Dec. 2010).

Success breeds success

There was a farmer who grew superior quality, award-winning corn in his farm. Each year, he entered his corn in the state fair where it won honors & prizes.

One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew his corn. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors.

"How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with
yours each year?" The reporter asked. "Why brother"

'' The farmer replied, "Didn't you know? The wind picks up pollen grains from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field.

If my neighbors grow inferior, sub-standard & poor quality corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I have to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors to grow good corns."

The farmer gave a superb insight into the connectedness of life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbors' corn also improves. So it is in the other dimensions and areas of life!
Those who choose to be in harmony must help their neighbors and colleagues to be at peace.

Those who choose to live well must help others live well. The value of a life is measured by the lives it touches...

Success does not happen in isolation; it is most often a participatory and collective process. So share the good practices, ideas and new knowledge with your family, friends, team members and neighbors & all.
